Product Description Genuine Nikon Diaphot 300 Inverted Fluorescence Research Microscope complete with UV fluorescence illumination, brightfield illumination, trinocular head, objectives and power supplies. This is a professional research-grade inverted microscope removed from a university laboratory. The microscope has been tested and is in excellent mechanical and optical working condition. Both the transmitted light illuminator and the UV fluorescence illumination system power up and operate correctly. This is an excellent microscope for fluorescence microscopy, cell culture, molecular biology, microbiology, pathology and research laboratory applications. Testing Performed • Microscope mechanically tested. • Focus mechanism operates smoothly. • XY mechanical stage moves smoothly. • Brightfield illumination tested and working. • UV fluorescence power supply tested and working. • UV lamp ignites and operates. Note: The UV bulb took a little while to ignite during testing. We are unsure whether this is normal behaviour for the lamp or an indication that the bulb may be ageing. The hour counter does not accurately reflect the number of hours the current bulb has done Fluorescence Filters • Two fluorescence filter cubes/filter assemblies installed inside the microscope. • One small green optical filter has come out of its holder but is included separately in the listing. • Please see photos for the installed filters and included loose filter. Condition Notes • Excellent overall physical condition. • Microscope was removed from a working laboratory setup. • Some dust is present on several optical surfaces and objectives and may benefit from cleaning. • The orange UV safety shield has a small crack/broken corner but remains largely intact. • The front camera port is missing its protective cap. • The side camera/photo port is also missing its protective cap. • The microscope stage is missing the circular metal stage insert that normally fits into the round opening beneath the specimen. • Rear aluminium extrusion mounting brackets remain fitted and appear intended for micromanipulators, probes or other laboratory accessories (accessories not included). Please review all photographs carefully to assess cosmetic condition and exactly what is included.
